I’m designing for public-use interactive tablets.

But given the current health scares, we can only assume people won’t want to touch.

Thoughts on interactive UX in a non-interactive moment?

Ideally, with the right hardware, this would be an awesome thing to explore.

Unfortunately, we’re dealing with basic tablets and they aren’t equipped for this.

like

Actually I misspoke, what I meant is look up "Wave control" to wave and hover with hand using front facing camera to control the tablet.

QR codes seem irrelevant but maybe this is a time to try to bring them back?

Any other ways to push someone to a landing page or second tier of content on their personal devices?

The problem is that I’m trying to A/B test content for best interaction rates ... but worried there won’t be interactions for health reasons that aren’t related to the actual content.

smart

I don't think QR codes are irrelevant. In fact, a lot of restaurants switched their menus over to a QR code-driven digital environment, and though this is anecdotal, almost everyone I dine with says they wish this was a permanent change.

In short, I think Covid pulled QR codes out of irrelevancy, which makes it a perfect use case for your situation.

It's a good time to experiment with gesture technology.

Have an acquaintance who is a single mom; she purchased a used car 3 mos ago. Six wks later her 17yo wrecked it, air bags deployed, and estimates have ranged between $10-$18k in needed repairs while $21k is still owed. Acquaintance was switching insurance policies and flubbed the coverage dates and there were a few days where the vehicle was uninsured. No GAP insurance. I'm not seeing many options for her besides to continue pmts, fixing just enough to drive or voluntary repo. Thoughts?

What about legal work is currently causing your mental health struggles?

Mine’s the hours, which is not normally my issue. I billed 230 for June and July and am already at 145 for August. My ability to focus is getting worse by the day, so I’m working longer to bill the same hours and have had to pull a couple all nighters. I burst into tears this morning when a client changed plans and now wants a major project by end of month, on top of my other deadlines next week... I just want to sleep.

Recent career-switcher here. While I’m a veteran with the ad process, I am new to the UX agile process. Is it normal to not use briefs whatsoever? Is it normal for the UX research lead to have a stakeholder workshop (sans designers) to think of concept “thought starters,” then have a separate meeting with the UX design lead to vote on which 1 of 3 concepts to proceed with? In advertising, this is analogous to the client and researchers doing the campaign idea then telling the CD to execute it.

Further context: our marketing dept currently uses Sketch. And my employer’s industry is insurance claims management.
