I find advertising to typically be forgiving, but you have to train others (including clients) to understand boundaries and set expectations. Examples: response time for emails is a business day - never reply immediately or you’re setting wrong expectations - delayed send is your friend; respect others’ time away from their devices, and they’ll respect yours - if you need to email after hours, state that they can respond when they are back in office; and true time off means you are not online when you’re on vacation - have a back up so dependence is not on you. And if your team is not structured to accomplish this, re-evaluate how your team is set up.
Hard boundaries and a rock solid schedule.
Leave agency and go brand side, specifically into tech 😅. Maybe wait a bit though for the layoffs to stop lol
Big tech!
Don't be afraid to set boundaries. And don't think that being lenient will get you more leeway. It won't they will take advantage
I had to learn this the hard way. I thought being nice would get me ahead but it just got me stuck doing a pile of work
I learned to shut my computer at 5 and if I ever have to send emails after work I always add "sent from my iphone" so they know I'm annoyed
I've found a nice place where they actually let you see your kids, your spouse, or just have time for friends. Even then, the number of days I've worked 10+ hours is too many to count. So you should only do advertising if you enjoy it.
