Turney! The Buy Side was a solid read and sort of covers what you're looking for here (or at least can lend you insight into how some buy siders think)

like

Okay, so I should just read the buy side? I'll check it out

Worth a read regardless of your objective. But yes, good book to learn how they think and what they expect out of sell-side. P.S. Don't do drugs kids

Thinking I could smash it in a sales gig after selling thousands of copies of my own books. I also have a large global audience. I’m looking to make a lot of money in a short period of time. Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?

Hi boys & girls!

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Any advice welcome!

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of getting into copywriting as something to soon the side but I have no experience doing it. What steps should I take (books to read, gigs to start with or pursue, etc) if I want to go from $0 and next to ) experience to $40k or so a year?

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

Hi All, I got an offer letter from CGI today. Name mentioned on the letter head is CGI Information Systems and Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

They are called CGI Global Inc. in Canada and although I am satisfied that it is just the name of their subsidiary in India but I have some serious trust issues in life (which is a whole different thing). So just wanted to confirm with you all that I will be employed by original CGI global Inc. right? 😅
