Turney! The Buy Side was a solid read and sort of covers what you're looking for here (or at least can lend you insight into how some buy siders think)

Okay, so I should just read the buy side? I'll check it out

Worth a read regardless of your objective. But yes, good book to learn how they think and what they expect out of sell-side. P.S. Don't do drugs kids

I am an aspiring entrepreneur and want to start a business in future for sure. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete, or close to being a start up yet. I work in tech, but a generalist - have done sales, delivery operations etc. trying to get experience in as many areas as possible before I go on my own. I dnt know where to start the journey. Are their any books or other material I can read/reference to think and plan about my entrepreneurship journey. I m in mid 40s based in t2 city US east.

Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?

I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. How do I recover from this?

Any particular segment of sales good for ex-finance? Currently 3 years in at fortune 100 bank on business development side (on commercial loan originations team but no commission/targets at the associate level, basically do credit analysis and build pitch books for the producers) This role has been great as I have gotten both analytical experience and tasted sales experience (I say taste bc I’m not the producer) but would potentially like to transition to a sales role that is less analytical

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Looking into commercial real estate investments in a smaller market. What are typical terms payment terms between equity and management? I assessed a deal way back and the pitch was:

* 95% to equity (5% to manager) until 100% equity paid back.
* 50% to equity (50% to manager) until 150% of equity paid pack back
* 40% to equity (60% to manager) thereafter until sold.

This was theoretically a friendly transaction.

Any thoughts on whether the terms were friendly and general market terms?

I did it. I went down the rabbit hole… let me explain. I’m in the third round of interviews for a digital marketing manager job and I have to present a 20 minute strategy on how I would create a new marketing plan for a new section of their business. I’m not really worried because I had an amazing 45 minute interview with the Marketing Director, but reading stuff online saying that these companies just stole their ideas has me worried. What should I do?
