Football fans name their sons after their favourite club stars but why this changes when they are expecting a girl? Maybe they still haven’t realized the great female teams they have. A print campaign to embrace the best footballers and continue supporting women’s football. See all the posters here: https://twitter.com/anasophia10/status/1368862345930346496?s=21

I ignore them. They’ll call me if it’s urgent

Pretty much.
Slack has an away status that you can customize- it’s super helpful. Maybe they’ll leave you messages but you can check them when you’re ready and they’ll know they won’t get a response right away

If you work on a PC, there’s an option for “focus time” which will silence all notifications for you. Don’t know if it works for 3P apps like Slack, but I’m sure you can silence those notifications (if feasible) in the application itself, even for at least an hour. Really helps when your inbox is constantly being blown up.
I’ve also started turning off email notifications on my phone during the day time since I’m by my computer at all times as it is.
Setting aside these blocks of time where I can block out all notifications and just focus on what I need has done wonders.
2 hour blocks reserved in my Outlook calendar at least 2X week. DND on slack/teams and I turn notifs off. If something is really urgent, they will call.
Same here. I’ve resorted to faking vacation days so that everyone thinks I’m unavailable for a few days so I can work uninterrupted. That’s extreme but it works. I’ve also blocked a couple hours off here and there on my calendar saying I am unavailable, turned off slack and close down email to avoid interruptions. Hope this helps.
This works only if you avoid using those same channels to communicate with employees on said fake vacation day. People catch on real quick and start to assume that you're around during real vacation days.
Block out times, Put do not disturb notifications on and suppress notifications till after your allocated block
Block off time in your calendar that's your own focus time. Also turn off Slack and any other things that can distract you and only keep essentials on your screen. I used to run into this a lot because of my people pleaser tendencies. The more you practice taking the focused time the less nerve-wracking it can feel. If there's an emergency someone will call you.😊
I also make my team comment in Trello when work is moving so I'm not getting pinged all day.
Either DND or busy with my computer muted
100% agree with the above on time blocking to get things done!
I struggled with this a LOT a couple of years ago and sought help. Two books that helped me and changed the way I work/stay organized: Deep Work by Cal Newport and Getting Things Done by David Allen. Even if you apply 10% of their recommendations, these books are life changing.
