I'm about to receive my offer letter from Bristlecone. I am getting hired for DevOps engineer with 4.8 YoE. How's the job security and work life balance?

Salary check. I am currently an in house attorney. 12 YOE. Large company with great coworkers doing regulatory work for the insurance industry. Good work life balance. I live in a high COL city. Out of curiosity and to test the market, I interviewed at a FAANG. Did not get the job, but found out TC was 350k, significantly higher than my TC 230k. I thought I was compensated fairly, but would love to see your thoughts.

Has anyone moved from MBB to investment team in PE and regret it? I hear the work as an associate could be more tedious and WLB worse

The leason learnt by some of high salary negotiatiors in one point of time is never always chasing high salary and stuck in toxic company and suffer.
Please also give priority to company brand and wlb

I am full time salaried employee and work M-F. I have always worked more than one job and am hating not having the opportunity to work over time when extra money is needed. I'll start; I'm privileged enough to have been given the opportunity to work and learn deeply on Linux and Kubernetes, and I get to tinker and play with them all day. Problem solving with them is a "fun" part of my job.

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

How do you handle if both j1 and j2 offer health insurance or 401k? Do you decline if they’re the through the same provider?

I really want to get a second job but I am scared of losing my current one. Both companies are in same field, although not direct competitors so I know it’s technically “not allowed” however, this is the only way for me to get that $$ since I am not paid all that well.
