Tbh everyone I’ve met in real life or online from RGA is the type of person who thinks it’s the height of edginess and cool to be needlessly mean. I’m sure it’s not everyone, but the fact that I’ve never met a nice person from there is enough to make me avoid like the plague
You my friend have met the wrong people. I’ve been here 6+ years and have NOT had that experience. Don’t make generalizations about a few bad eggs and assume the rest of us are the same way.
Also, R/GA is on a hiring spree. The work is flying in and we don’t have enough people to do the work. Throw your resume in the hat
It’s the worst place I’ve ever worked. Insane hours, mundane work, and they treat people like garbage. Stay the hell away. Honestly, if you’re gonna do work that dull, grab a client side gig and at least go home at a reasonable hour.
Z1 I worked there and you are 100% correct.
Feel free to send your resume to me :) Bayyina.Black@rga.com. I’d be happy to put you (or anyone else interested) through.
The only thing they have going for them is their Twitter account
RGA is on a hiring spree because alot of the talent is leaving.
I literally said “I’m sure it’s not everyone” but okay
It’s a toxic, horrible place to work.
People are political, they lie and they’re disloyal. The worst place I have ever worked. I found it hard to walk through the front door everyday.
This was the LA office though, maybe the other offices are better.
I like it 🤷🏻♀️
^ to be fair, since OP is an integrated producer, I hardly think the those departures are their relevant "heart". I'm not a creative and definitely don't feel the difference significantly. The group/client structure also gives you a smaller rga environment to work in (smaller fishbowl, if you will).
Personally, I've found the most frustrating thing about rga is that we're not allowed to talk about the cooler projects - even within the agency. So the experience is completely up to what account you're interviewing for. Could be very interesting or very mundane.
You can tell a lot about a company when the leadership is leaving. Nick, Chris, Chloe. Within my year departure from R/GA, 90% of the creative people I know have left. And the number continues to grow.
@ R/GA 1: Anyone I should reach out to directly? DM you? I feel like R/GA’s job board application goes nowhere (but I might be wrong).
I did the cars.com work that came out recently
I keep forgetting about the Fishbowl audience. I took the bait. FL 1 DM if you’d like
Curious what you think the “Fishbowl audience” is
A lot of the people I met there were great humans. Smart and kind but sometimes being used to do very average work through no fault of their own.
I think things are in a state of flux there now and with Chloe, Nick and Taras gone, the heart of the place is probably missing.
But overall, there's less politics than some places, more than others. It does look good on your resume of you want to go to a tech place afterwards though. I'd go there over a more traditional agency.
Perfect, thanks Bayyina, gonna send you an email now.
Are there specific reasons for the mass exodus of talent?
I meant to say "I dig the cars.com work" incase the copywriter who actually did that work is out there reading this!!
