3 kids and currently doing this with our 3rd (18 mos). Moved all to one nap at 18 mo/2 yr mark. 3/3.5 hr nap. From when they wake up in the AM, we’d try to push them to 5 hrs. Kept bedtime at 745-830 range PM to sleep roughly 11-12 hrs. All kids slept thru the night (at least until potty training).
Correct. Wouldn’t even allow a screen until age 2.
I have 4 kids and each one was different. My advice would be to try different approaches and see what works.
One child wasn’t a napper and is forcing him to nap made bedtime a nightmare because he wasn’t tired.. Another was overtired at the end of the day and needed a longer nap. Another responded well to adjusting the time of day for their nap.
Sorry, I have no concrete advice but those are the three variables I found success in modifying.
Our daughter has never napped lol. Apart from the car she never sleeps during the day with us. Kindergarten occasionally get her to sleep in the day and she is a nightmare in the evening.
