How many clients do you all work with? I'm a junior on 15 clients/teams - for almost all but 1 or 2 of these I split the docket with other teammates. A partner told me that was too many and wants to get me down to 6. Another partner told me that seemed like a healthy mix. I have months where I'm OK (not great) at keeping up with everything and weeks like rn where I'm going insane with the mental clutter.

I’m a fourth year. Started working on like 20 clients and each year I’ve been consolidating it down. I’m currently at 2 clients where I am the go to person and handle the most work of the client and a few smaller clients where there isn’t much to do. There are some partners that insist I should work on as many clients as possible as a hedge against one client leaving the firm (and as a hedge against me leaving) and other partners who insist I focus on key clients and build a reputation/relationship. Otherwise I’m a nobody just running around with scraps. I prefer to build a relationship so my two core clients have about 70% of my time right now. At the end of the day you need to do what you want- not what the partner suggests you do. It took me a few years to realize that.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

I got out of my water drinking habit and finding it hard to build back up to 100oz + per day. I don’t like the fact I’ve added in drinks with fake sweeteners to get more fluid intake. What do you all drink to supplement water that is better than some artificially flavored and/or colored beverage? I feel nothing exists and I just need to get back to my water habit. Maybe any good water bottles that help you drink more?

Taking the patent bar in a week and it’s been so tough studying while working. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this week and then make it through 6 hours of testing.
