How many hours do you typically work per week? Does 55 to 60 hours across 5 active account seem like a lot? This is my current experience and I am feeling the burn out immensely but wondering what others are experiencing.

We are hiring for senior IT auditors and cyber assessors to work on SOC2s, CMMC, pen testing, vulnerability assessments, and other similar projects. Boston area, medium/large regional firm. 2-4 years exp but flexible. Open to associates that are on the cusp of promotion to senior. Relatively low travel and better WLB compared to Big4. I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

Does relocation to touristic cities (workations) really work? I have experience working summer jobs in foreign countries and was thinking about doing that now, or at least plan for next year.

I am curious about the impact it has on the work/life balance as well as the mental health, after several years of doing the same position in different companies.

My job (no longer a senior accountant) is high volume and fast paced. I’m getting on average 50 emails a day with at least half of those containing action items, in addition to the high volume of work I have on a daily basis. I am a CPA, have worked in audit and was briefly in industry and this is absolutely destroying my mental health. I need something a lot more laid back—I’m not afraid of hard work but this is too much. Please leave suggestions, I’m terrified of what this will do to me.

Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.

What I am very confused about is that they gave me Booked Impressions (=4M), but in the task it says I should assume there is unlimited inventory.
