My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? .3 hrs. Exceeded all metrics and still managed to squeeze in some vacay
17 days (136 hours). Goal is to get the full 25 in the bank since I trust nobody at this damn firm and will love 5 weeks of PTO to job hunt if needed.
Like to use all the previous year's expiring PTO and leave myself that five weeks always hanging in the background just in case

We schedule project shutdowns with the client. Took 2 weeks off in the summer and just came back from another 2 week break.
A full year, every year: 240 hours

When I ask its "not a good time" but our project is in phase and always busy. Sucks having PTO denied even when asking months in advance.
If you're facing that situation OP, you need to escalate. I always make sure my team gets their PTO. Hate to have a resource who is burnt down.
