Does anyone have experience breaking up w a therapist? I've been seeing my therapist for 5+ years for eating disorder treatment and we've been through so much together, but I don't think she's able to help me anymore. While I've stopped my ED behaviors, they've evolved into OCD, and I'm finding that her methods might be making it worse. I think I want to try an OCD expert instead. But I don't know how to end the relationship. Do I just stop going? Do I explain myself? I don't know what to do 🥺

Do you think you and your significant other should have similar personalities? My significant other and I are doing long distance and I feel like when I FaceTime with him, I emote more and show interest by asking more questions but from his end, he doesn’t always have a reaction or just nods, and it makes me feel like he’s uninterested. On his end he sees it as he’s comfortable.

I’m mid 30s F. Recently started seeing this guy, where he is “good enough”. Good conversations, decent time together, he has a good heart, but nothing about him shines. - not fit (I work out everyday and play sports), meh social skills (he doesn’t have best friends, just few he hangs out with), bit less energy than me.

Sister going through divorce with verbally abusive spouse, just received temporary judgement for custody of two year old and was awarded joint custody (she was anticipating she’d get sole custody). I just learned I was parentified severely, especially emotionally. The discovery came from outside of therapy, but having a place every week to sit down, slow down & reflect def led to it. Being enmeshed with my parents like this was a cause for my anxiety, low self esteem and workaholic, people pleasing tendencies. I'm working on extricating myself and finding my identity again in a way that will be easy on my conscience and values..so I'm learning! Please dont hesitate to go to therapy!...
