Hello, I'm working with Deloitte and recently got an offer from EY GDS TTT.
YOE: 5.2
Tech: .Net & Angular Full stack developer
CCTC: 13.35 Fixed
EY offer: 19 fixed
Role: Advanced Analyst (Rank 44)
I'm not satisfied with the role as I was expecting a senior role. I mailed HR about the same but it's been 10 days and still no reply.
So, can I get promoted the coming year as I will ge 6 YOE by June?? Any suggestions would really help. Thanks 😊

Having done this twice, I usually use a compliment sandwich.
Why it’s so hard for me to quit (benefits, boss , culture etc) — why I think I need to quit (what the other job provides that I am lacking)— why I appreciate the company and my direct leaders guidance and resources (last part I truly meant but is optional/can be switched with something else)
Basically, if they understand that there is something they are not doing but can do, they will bite and ask how we prevent this. Assuming you want a counter, that’s your opp to explain what is needed to retain you. Assuming you are not interested in a counter, I would just respectfully decline and thank them for their support.
All in all, just make 100% sure to not come across and combative or disrespectful. You will burn bridges for no reason- because switching gigs is ok but being disrespectful while doing so is not.
Depends if you want to stay for more pay or actually leave
Thanks for the feedback! I'm still not sure what to do. There's a possibility of more pay with the new opportunity but I've been with my employer for over many years with various roles and the reason I'm considering leaving is the work started to be boring and I started to disconnect due to many delays on our projects. Things could pick up so if they matched or offered a counter, it might be enticing but i also think a change could do some good (although it's a risk).
I would say look at it this way. Is the only reason you’re leaving $? If so, then worth a talk and exploring the counter. If you are actually frustrated and have other issues, then just give your 2 weeks.
If you’ve decided to make the move to similar role for more pay, why feel the need to approach manager at all other than to inform him that you’ve been offered and have accepted another position elsewhere (2 weeks notice)?
It was more to get an idea of how to approach. All my promotions have been internal so I haven't been in this situation before.
I did this and it turned out really well for me. I showed my boss the offer letter, told him I love my job and current role but this offer letter was compelling. My firm came back within 1 business day with an offer $45k higher than the other company…. So I stayed
