Hypothetically, what would you do if you unexpectedly received $1.5m today? No caveats, no depends on situation, no bs responses. Genuinely interested in your answer. Thank you.

Quit. Invest in real-estate. Spend my time flipping properties. Never worry about money again

Probably dump $1MM into S&P index fund to shorten retirement and pay off my mortgage with the remaining.

At that point, I'd take a sabbatical or quit for a year or two to spend more time with my wife and daughter. Only catch is healthcare. Would need to figure that out.

I would put away a 800K-1M, pay off all my loans, and buy a nice house in a high growth area with the remainder

Invest it in dividend stocks and pay off my debts.

500k in QQQ
500k in some RE syndication deals
300k into some tax advantaged fund
200k into lambo

1. Pay off parents debt/mortgage
2. Buy a home
3. Invest the rest

@EY9 - how would you 10x in a year or two?
If you’re that good let’s start a firm and I’ll get you clients.

I signed an offer today at another firm (woohoo) going from a large consulting firm to a industry specific M&A firm. Start date is after Labor Day. Not sure now when to put my two weeks notice in. 170 hours of PTO to use or cash out, but I’m in the middle of a project so can’t necessarily just take it. If you were in my shoes, when would you give your two weeks?

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this in their market?

I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I’m considering debt consolidation, specifically a company called National Debt Relief which seems legit but I’m just so hesitant because I’m scared to make my situation worse. Or a personal loan to pay off all the CC debt and then have a smaller all in one payment. I’m intelligent and I work in finance, it’s so embarrassing. HELP.

I'm a Canadian on the TN visa working in the US and planning on maxing my Roth IRA (6k) and will have enough left to max my 401k this year, but am not sure if I should just use a taxable account over 401k due to tax considerations when I move back to Canada (likely 1-2 years from now). Any thoughts here? I don't think I'll have enough RRSP room to move 401k>IRA>RRSP and I would prefer to not have to file US taxes every year in retirement for withdrawls if I left the 401k in the US.

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.

Good traders tend to be flexible. I can make money in all kinds of markets, being a bull or a bear. Today was a headscratching day. We rallied a lot farther than we should have. We bounced in place's we shouldn't have. So, I have to ask myself? What the hell happened? While I made money today, I should have made lots more money. Remember the tip that markets don't count Pre-NY Mondays. If I decided to do my from last weeks low as opposed to today's low. I'm bullish. Additional info in reply post

I am sick of being a realtor! I've been trying for 5 years and have only sold 3 houses. Where I'm from (small Southern town) nobody is buying. Most people's families already own homes and it's just a bummer to see all these nice houses deteriorating over time.
