Bain & Company Atlanta people! I’m in the process of applying for MBA programs and wanted to ask what recruiting is like for MBB from Emorys program? Is there a reasonable shot at getting into the Atlanta office from Emory, or are those openings primarily filled by other schools (Duke, UVA, etc.)

It’s hard at the beginning but becomes much easier as you stay put. Do you belong to swim/tennis? I would definitely start by striking up conversations with other moms at the pool. Also, highly recommend joining ALTA tennis. Team sports, especially in Atlanta really bring moms together. Don’t be afraid to look up Alpharetta mom groups on FB either. Everyone at one point feels the same as you, looking for friends, a little embarrassed. Don’t be...it takes time but one day you will look up and realize you have a group of awesome Atlanta women that have your back 👍
Try downtown Alpharetta! Always lots of young people with small children out and about during the day! Especially in the little grassy area/splash pad. I was there this afternoon and tons of families with small kids were hanging out - might be worth it to just strike up some convo with some folks!
Unless your question is discovered by other moms in your area you might not get real answers here. Instead it will devolve into a thread where people with try and bash up Atlanta.
Parks in your vicinity could be an option to bump into other parents who bring their children to play.
I’m not a mom buttt I’m open to being friends! I’m in the Alpharetta/Milton area.
I am also an Alpha/Milton mom. My kids are a bit older (9 & 13) but always interested in meeting other women in the area.
OP - check out your local parents group on Facebook. I don’t use social media except for this and affiliated groups, and have found them really helpful, for parent meetups and item exchanges.
FWIW I live in Grant park, but Alpharetta sounds incredible (just a bit far from the city center for me) and seems to attract a lot of young families. Wishing you the best of luck!
I love Grant Park! I moved out just when the The Beacon and Summer Hill started to flourish last year.
