I am an insurance coverage attorney seeking to transition to an in-house claims counsel position. As part of the interview process, a carrier requested previous coverage position letters and reports to the clients (with redacted client names and confidential information) as writing samples. This sounds unethical to me because coverage position letters discuss carrier's policy language and client reports are attorney-client communication. Am I overthinking this?

Even redacted I’m virtually certain that these are in fact privileged. I’d have the same concern. Maybe tweak it enough — in addition to redactions — so that you can say with a straight face that it’s not the same work product, but still shows your quality of work?

like

If the policy language is a standard ISO form, it shouldn’t matter, no?

like

Redact the parties/insureds/insurer and you’re fine.

I’m likely doing the opposite transition. How long were you doing the coverage work?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.
