Usually PM responsibilities are spread across the Scrum Master and Product Owner. In your situation I'd see it as the PM is responsible for the overall project health and delivery. The BSA typically works closely with the Product Owner to refine requirements and the Scrum Master runs daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews

A Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is a professional who bridges the gap between business needs and IT solutions by analyzing and defining the requirements for business systems. They translate business goals into technical specifications, manage IT system implementation and maintenance, and ensure systems align with business processes and objectives. Unlike a general Business Analyst who might focus more broadly on company-wide strategy, a BSA has a more technical focus on IT operations and infrastructure. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key responsibilities
• Requirements gathering: Consult with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for new or enhanced systems.
• System analysis: Analyze how new or proposed changes will affect existing system architecture and performance.
• Technical specifications: Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for the development team.
• Implementation and support: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and support of critical software systems.
• Problem-solving: Identify technical solutions to business problems and ensure data integrity and system performance. [1, 2, 4, 5]
BSA vs. Business Analyst (BA)
• Business Systems Analyst (BSA): Focuses more specifically on the technical aspects of IT systems, acting as a liaison between business users and IT development teams.
• Business Analyst (BA): Often has a broader scope, looking at business-wide strategies, processes, and goals across multiple departments, with a less technical focus than a BSA. [1, 3, 4, 6]
