I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

I think everyone should live in NY for at least a year in their 20s.
What about like Austin? Great for young people, and you can save
Just a thought, but if you know New York is right then send it
Do it, and worse case move after a year if you don’t like it! Nothing permanent
I would 100% move somewhere that makes me happy. New York is a great city. Do it. You can always move back if you don’t like it

No it’s not worth it. You will have much more segs in NY and could meet high powered future partner or very beautiful/handsome future partner.

There’s no place like NYC. Do it.
No income tax 🥴 savings > lifestyle
I can get to NY in 3 hours from the comfort of my suburban apartment. I then can crash for free on the weekends with friends and enjoy the lifestyle without shelling out NY rent.
Up to you, but personally I would find a lower cost of living city where you can get to NY but. It have to foot NY rent.

As long as you’ve been to NYC and like it. My sister lives there and loves it. I absolutely hate it and think there are many more fun places.

You could save that cash and travel the world on it.
Can you start by living in an Airbnb a couple of months to see if you like it? If you do, rent. If it’s not worth it, go home
what is your base pay? then we can tell you if you can actually enjoy living here.
Yeah you can enjoy it, might help if you can find a workspace out of your apt to feel like you’re really “in it” you might be frustrated in how much less your saving per month. Leases are 12 months generally so if it’s not for you than you can leave
Are you good looking? Hate to be blunt, but plenty of rich average guys here who no one wants to date.
Ok then you’re good! Lol
