Hi All,
I have joined cognizant yesterday. I came to know that office location is bantala in Kolkata. I do not want to work in bantala location. I have talked with my recruiter. But hs said offer location is decided on project allocation. How can I change the location to other location? If I leave the job will it be any problem?

I don't think so. Only last month salary they put on hold
Rising Star
So as per the HR ... Genpact holds last 30 days salary and since my LWD is 28th Dec . They have kept Nov salary also on hold . 😭
No, only last month salary that too based on your LWD in most of the companies.
Rising Star
No. 3 Companies i worked till now. They hold only last month salary
Most of the companies hold only last month salary.
Better you may write an email to HR on the same, it's very difficult to survive for 2months without pay (if we don't have savings).

Got revert from HR saying Genpact holds 30 days salary and it if it falls in two months it will hold for both the months .
No, only last month salary they hold as far as i know
Pro
Doesn't Genpact have 60 days notice?
They have increased it to 3 months
Pro
No, I have switched 4 companies and all of them held my last month salary until FNF.
They hold the previous month salary just like most of the other companies.
This is the first time I'm hearing this 😐
Pro
In hcl they will hold the salary for the month you have resigned
Pro
As 3 month notice period in hcl, they will hold the salary for the month you have resigned and LWD month. That means 2 months pay will be on hold
Nope they should hold only the last month's salary!
Unless you are leaving before a certain timeline and the company plans to recover joining bonus, etc from the employee. In which case they do hold last 2 months' salary.

My last working day is 28th December and I have not received salary today .
I checked with someone else who resigned last month and that guy informed me the same thing .
I am currently serving 3 months notice period at Genpact. I received salary for 2 months. I think, they will hold only 3rd month salary and pay after 35 days of exit.
Rising Star
Only if your last working day falls on 30th or first week of the next month . Then it wouldn't be any problem for you .
Or I am in analytics that could be the reason . Not sure but as per HR its company policy .
No it doesn't happen. I am also currently serving notice period of 90 days and my last working day is 13th December, so my 1-13th December salary will be withheld but I got my November salary today.
So its not common what you have mentioned
If they are holding your 2 month salary you can deal that legally... Because it's a rule no company should hold the salary for more than 1 month
if LWD falls within 10 days of last month, usually companies hold salary for last 2 months , if it is after 10 only last month's salary and that you will get in 45 days after LWD.
Infosys, my lwd 7dec, I got my Nov salary.
In capgemini, they follow a similar strategy. I too had received last 2 months salary in FnF
it will be for last 30 days, so it maybe 2 months or 1 month depending on the day you put down your papers.
