Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.
So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

See this as an opportunity to establish yourself as a leader. Take over the matters and keep following up with the non-responsive associates and say we will do x absent further input etc. then do it. If a major issue, loop in partners in a way that doesn’t overtly throw anyone under the bus but brings attention to your managing of the team and matters. Maximize client interaction

I lateraled to a firm where I felt like this and ended up leaving after 8 months. I think it works for some people but it wasn’t for me

Why not scheduling a call with them if they are not answering your email?

Are you being assigned enough work? It could be that you're just not a good fit with the team. Being remote isn't an excuse.
Yes, I’m still getting more than enough work and all of my reviews say that I’m a strong performer. To be clear, I go into the office but the majority of the team is still remote so there is little team engagement, etc. Partners are mostly MIA and do not really corral the team. You could be right! Sounds like I might find a better fit elsewhere.
