I’m really sorry to hear you’re feeling discouraged, it’s so tough out there rn. With 15 years of customer service experience, you’ve definitely got a lot to offer. Are you reaching out to former bosses and colleagues and asking them if they know of any opportunities? That's really where I would start.
If you are in your 30s, you should be in the "sweet spot" for most customer service roles. Old enough to have work and life experiences to help relate to customers and young enough to still have fresh ideas, ability to learn and adapt, and engage with those a decade younger than you or a decade older than you. I may have misunderstood the comment, but if you've had two jobs since being laid off two years ago and are currently unemployed, that could be a red flag to employers in your current job search. It is best to address that particular elephant in the room immediately and not let the interviewer's imagination run wild.
