Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. Not sure what your grades looked like, but a judicial clerkship could be a good way to transition over, law firms love that experience.
If that's not an option, your bar association likely has a list of aging solo practitioners that are looking to sell their practice and will take you on and train you with the idea you will buy their business in a few years.
Non biglaw will pay less and require as much or more work than public accounting for 30-35K less.
What don’t you like about PA that doesn’t exist in traditional practice? I remember reading something like 80-90% of tax attorneys are in PA so roles in traditional practice are quite limited, but they’re out there. I’ve known people that have broken the barrier, but they had to network and it took quite some time to find roles.
