I got an offer from Mercer for an associate level position (tech role). I currently live in NYC with a TC of 150K. The offer is 130K + 10% bonus + 5K sign on with the option to stay in nyc, or move to dc or Chicago. Mercer seems to have a much better work life balance than my current role. Thoughts on the offer? How about take the pay cut in NYC vs moving? PhD + 1.5yoe.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid.
