I would definitely leave out anything related to the person they actually hired, especially as there’s no reason to highlight something you lack when you’re trying to set yourself up for a potential future role
I think you’d be better off asking if he/she could connect you to teams/roles you might be a better fit for if you believe you did well in the interviews

^ would this be too much? Since I kept close track of who they end up hiring. But I really wanted to role and some timing just didn’t work out.
Well, the other candidate might have been selected for some other skill set. What if its not management skill set?
You can ask for if there are areas in which the VP would recommend that you should work. (It seems you really liked this role. Take a breath. Everything that I am suggesting you yourself can come up as well :))
