why does option3 make any sense? i think just take the money, option 1
Temporary ding on credit might be worth not paying off the reward point debt is the scenario where 3 makes sense, but I’m not 100% on the details
Just use the card as you normally would? You have no obligation to “pay off” the reward points, but they’ll naturally accrue as you use the card for more purchases. It’s only 7k points...not worth a ding to your credit to have a clean slate on a $550 annual fee credit card. This is a non-issue...just enjoy using your CSR as a debit card basically for your next $4k in purchases.
Just deposit the 4K to your bank account or use the card how you normally would. You don’t need to cancel a card because you “owe” $70 worth of cc points. Chase will either just charge you the cash equivalent of the points or you’ll just use the card normally to earn back the points
