Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.

Do you know why your bench time is high? Have you formulated a plan to address it? Don’t live in the future - you can’t control it. What calls can you make this week that set you up for a better conversation, ones that show you’re controlling whatever part of this you can? Have the best (true) story going in, listen carefully, and own it. No blame. No excuses. Just learn
P1 means, have a plan to be off the bench and stay off bench before the call. Share that plan on the call and how you have learned from the reasons your bench time was high and why you are confident it won’t happen anymore.
OP. Here is my strongest advice for you: Learn to accept what life throws at you as long as you are convinced ‘YOU GAVE IT YOUR ALL’! This is very key. Reason is what we think is negative or failure is actually a way the Universe steers us through some process of Elimination and Rediscovery towards our path! The principle of “Equilibrium Life” and the “Law of Energy Conservation” says it all.
If I were you I would focus more on how to pickup up the lessons and the learnings (there is always a reason for every event) and channel my energy towards making the most of the next path that will come your way. I was laid off even wt a very exceptional CRT and Utilization and Performance Snapshots were excellent. I never got bothered when the call came in. In less than 2 weeks I was offered a Director position with more than 80% pay raise (I wasn’t even a manager when I was laid off). Focus my friend and worry not about what is coming. Take the positives and NEVER ever leave on a quarrelsome or bad not. You may need to cross the Same path over and over again why damage the path? Best wishes and do reach out if you need referrals
PwC 1 sage advice. Thanks for reminding me of the mental strength. I was thinking the same thing few days ago. It just my rational mind got overtaken in panic mode. Thanks again
I’ve been where you are and firstly...it sucks and it’s ok to acknowledge that. It’s not going to suck any less because you will it to but it doesn’t define you, negate all your achievements, or make you a lesser person. It’s life presenting adversity and a chance to build stronger. In my case I did get fired. And I can tell you in retrospect it was the best thing that could have happened. I found a new firm which I enjoy more, am on a fast track to partner, and I carry the memory of my experience that you are in right now as motivation. Good luck to you! No matter what happens the universe and I are here for you! “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we must change ourselves” - V Frankl...his book mans search for meaning is timely for the moment you are in
Thanks c1. This was the purpose of my post. Over the years I have realized words mean a lot. Also, shared experience really helps navigate through these situations. 🙏
Accept it, own it, make a plan to move past it- then take action
That sucks, I’m sorry. Feel free to reach out to discuss skills / referral.
agreed, I am willing to help as well .
Thanks guys. While applying to new positions do you discuss current no job situation with HR ?
Don’t bring it up unless asked, I’ve looked for a role while unemployed and they didn’t even know until after my offer when I entered the dates for my company
Oh man. What firm? What’s your specialty area? Talk to us so we can refer you.
it’s still there D2...
