You should try to come in at C1. The MBBs have a unique way of working, and it takes a while to get adjusted to it. Most folks that come in at C2 have already managed others at other organizations, and even then, struggle. The extra time helps, and contributes to long term success vs short term higher pay.
This is a good answer.
Lateral hires w/o consulting experience likely to struggle in any firm, though previous prof client service is somewhat relevant. This industry is probably one of the strictest on "up or out" of any, even more than corp law.
If you want to be set up for success in this industry, it's not worth the slight pay bump to C2 or whatever for most people if you end up crashing and burning after a year instead of having the chance to actually learn and grow into the role - w decent shot at promotion afterward.

Your specific expertise doesn't matter, pay is based on the even you come in at.
With a PharmD, you would be considered for thr post-MBA position (which is Consuktant at BCG). 175 base (with bonus on top to take you into a bit over 200).
You mentioned you were a PL, you’re a Principal or partner now?
