I have been applying to some positions lately and it’s really frustrating that a lot of companies do not even include a salary range at all or include a very wide of a range. What would you consider a fair salary for a Senior Liability Claim Adjuster? Not sure how much to ask that is not too high to disqualify myself at the same time I do not want to ask too low and be taken advantage of. I currently work BI commercial litigated claims, high severity.

Don't offer a salary. If they want one in the application, just put that you will discuss. If you get to the screening call, they will ask you first what you want. Ask them what their range is. Then once they tell you do not give them a number. Just say that range is acceptable or not. A friend who does hiring said never tell them your number until they give you an offer.

Thank you so much for this. Most applications will ask you for your desired salary and it’s not an optional field. I will keep your advice in mind and try to fill out that I will discuss.

I need a salary range before I consider

Me too, however there are not a lot of options out there in states that do not require disclosure.

Definitely agree with everyone above, you don't want to give them an amount. I would ask them what their range is and then tell them that your expectations are within their range and then ultimately ask for the top of their range.

I decided to take applying for external opportunities more seriously. I understand it is insane out there. How do you get yourself organized for this? Do you keep an excel sheet? I know there's a better way to do this. Any advice will help. TIA!

I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. I'm at a point where the salary I'm getting is disrespectfully low for all the work I do. Should I ask for a raise? And if so, how do I go about asking without sounding greedy.
