If you’re not paying for it, go for it. You never know what life can turn out to be so if you can get this under your belt at minimum or no cost to you, do it.
I’ll add in, if you have an SO and or kids, factor in the trade off for two years of school. It is a time commitment so if you have the right support around you, it’s completely manageable.
Thanks for your input and motivation to move forward! Im actually single, no kids…ready to either stack cash or stack books. Haha
Just my 2 cents, I’d wait to see how the process shakes out. You do have enough time to apply round 2 for most places but do you have everything set in terms of LoR, gmat, essays?
Thanks for your 2 cents! I do have everything squared away. Essays, LoR, I got a GMAT waiver with a combo of my undergrad gpa and military service. I guess I’m just waiting to see if any of the jobs finally come through, but it’s been months and im losing confidence.
Top 10 MBA or not worth it IMO
Practise on cracking the interviews and offer even if it’s with a boutique firm to ultimately end up at a Big4/T2 down the line (~18-24 months)
THANKS so much everyone! This is the lil debate I was looking for! Everyday I ask myself if a free T-30 is better than a 6 figure top MBA and this discussion has brought a great perspective to the opportunity.
I got my MBA covered 100% by my military benefits. I think having the MBA helped me but my experience was worth more. If your background is technical, I would get a technical degree. If it’s not, I would get an MBA with a focus on something valuable (like project management or something). It’ll make you even more competitive.
I did not take the GMAT. In my experience any admission test or admission requirements do not make a difference. Your graduate GPA matters more and again any valuable experience or certifications
Can you aim higher for MBA?
Wow, I had no idea! Thanks for the insight! I’m going to look more into the program.
