Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase?Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I absolutely think you should do this. Even if it doesn't get you a better raise, atleast you tried. I do this every single year when it is time for annual increases.
I'm not sure that would be well received. A lot of organizations will take the position that they don't care what other people are paying. You may be better served focusing your case on yourself, and perhaps only referring to market data as a sidelight to your main argument. It might be better to focus on how you're a more valuable worker than you were some time ago, and because you've grown in the job your compensation should be updated to reflect that.
Yes that’s what I plan to do. I have my own accomplishments and skills that I will speak to so that I can say why I deserve the increase, not just about market values.
No, you're not being too forward. What I do on a regular basis (daily) is I keep a meeting for me that goes over tasks that I need to work on or are currently in work and completed, I do that every weekday, updating, and separate years. I hand over a list to my manager, prior to my review, to let them know, because they don't always see it.
You want them fully aware of what you're doing , but beyond that, You're telling your manager that You know exactly what you've accomplished in the last year and why you deserve more than 3%, or the minimum.
