Is the feedback / changes they are providing valuable? All I’ve seen you complain about is the fact they asked to review your emails. That itself is not a valid complaint. You’re a new senior associate, it is a valid concern. Your prior title is all in your head. If you can’t see that maybe quitting is the best path forward.
But you’re a senior consultant, no? Let them offer guidance before emails go out, determine together why their idea makes sense or offer your own thoughts, and incorporate things you both decide on. They should not be needing to double check unless you ask for second pair of eyes for whatever reason that makes sense.
If you only joined 4 months ago I think that it’s perfectly reasonable for them to want to review emails before sending to the client. Hopefully they are giving you feedback so that you can improve 👍
At SC level with 6 years experience I don’t need him to coach me
Hmm, sounds like they are trying to coach you. Once you build the trust that your emails are client ready they will likely let you fly on your own.
Its definitely worth having a convo to understand why they think that level of review is necessary. Maybe you are missing something or they don’t realize it’s impacting you. I would hope you wouldn’t quit after just 4 months of email micro-management...🤔
I’m an sc moving into m and I also review the emails of a new sc before he sends them out. That happened for about a week and a half. I gave him feedback. He incorporated it. Everything is fine
OP sorry to be blunt but you sound a bit petulant. Nut up handle this like an adult
BA1, you sound like a smacked ass trying to use a fancy word for childish. I guess you want everyone to think you're smart.
Sounds like a micro manager. Good luck.
But I’m a manager in my previous company and my role is supposed to be leading the work steam.
OP have a conversation with them. Their intent is probably to coach you given you are quite new to the firm. They may not be aware that you are perceiving it so negatively. Be open to learning as well, 6 years isn’t that long!
Only trying to impress you C1
What’s wrong with the manager?
I’m not allowed to send emails without him seeing first
OP - If you want to leave, do you want a referral to another firm?
