I just got my annual raise at work and honestly, I’m more insulted than happy. After a year of covering shifts, training new hires, and dealing with short staffing, my ‘raise’ came out to $0.45 an hour. I’m now at $25.45/hr, which barely keeps pace with inflation. I know raises aren’t guaranteed, but this just feels like a slap in the face considering everything management praises me for. Have you had a raise that makes you wonder why it was even there in the first place?

I recently left the bank channel and went Indy, I’ve been successful at moving clients and assets over and am just getting started. A former bank advisor colleague has show interest in partnering up. For comparison purposes our AUM and production numbers were comparable. I did more fee based business while he did more VA and insurance business but we both have a fairly balanced product mix. What are thoughts on forming a new partnership? What should I be thinking about while having discussions?
