No testicular cancer is a good reason. Also prostate cancer is something I’ve seen commonly in intact males. And guess what the cure is? Neutering. So they can risk it but if those testicles or prostate becomes enlarged *snip snip* btw for the puppy comment: yes puppies aren’t terrible BUT are they a responsible breeder and are they educated on the subject? Because overpopulation of animals is severe in the US and people breed some bad specimens or don’t know what they are getting into commonly.
Something in my over 20 years as a CVT and someone who shows and breeds has NEVER seen. It’s not that common. Overpopulation? Is that why they were shipping dogs from overseas? Or from one shelter to others? The problem isn’t the dogs- it’s the people.
If the person is going to responsible, there is nothing wrong with keeping an intact dog. You are assuming this person is not a responsible person.
I'm not sure that your attitude toward your client is fair. Some people want to have puppies, and that's okay too...
Well, give them the benefit of the doubt. They might be responsible after all. We can't really force them to do something against their will.
