I literally have no billable work! Just rolled off of a project that lasted 11 months--3 weeks ago..hope I don't get let go :( been trying to network as well but, no work in pipeline --cause summer?

Looking for guidance. I’ve been in people manager roles (in director/senior leader capacity) for the last 5 years now, and prior to that I was a “rockstar” Project Manager. I’ve worked really hard to get to the position I’m in today, but I’ve been recently asked to move from my current role to a senior IC role to take on a highly visible Program for the company, with some very senior stakeholders. I feel conflicted as it does feel like I would be backtracking in many ways. Thoughts?

Gave my 2-week notice and Partner has asked me stay an extra 3 days to wrap up a project that I know will be a very long 3 days... I don’t really want to do it but also am afraid of burning bridge. I said yes to the Partner but now kind of regret it. This job has made me sacrifice my health and I don’t want to work those extra 3 days. I wonder what’s the best way to tell them.

If anyone is hiring in Canada please kindly give my partner a chance. The wait, dilemma and uncertainty is taking a very big toll from us.

-He got experience in Primavera, got excellent statistical analysis skill, can use python for constructing ML models,

Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.

1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.
