Move a little slower bud. Would you call someone you are interested in and haven’t talk to in 2 year a and say, “wanna sleep with me?”
Reach out and tell him that you want to catch up, and you want to bounce some ideas off him
and get his perspectives because you value his opinion. Then tell him about your experiences at your current job (keep it positive) and what other experiences you want to get next and what value you think you can bring to a firms. If he has a role for you, if will come up. Decent chance he doesn’t have a role for you, but he knows someone who may. As you move up in your career you will get jobs by networking, not job hunting.

That’s good to hear. I feel bad that I haven’t kept in touch since and don’t want it to feel like I’m just reaching out to get a job and then never speak again

Jobs are a lot busier these days with virtual
Happy hours and other stuff to go through all the rigamarole to find out if there are open positions. I have had many people cut through the chase and I have responded - mostly politely and in the negative for “management” positions - sometimes positively for hands on positions.
I see a lot of VPs replying on this thread and fear that one of you may be the person I’m referring to
