What are hours like in Big 4 Forensics?
Wow. Buzz-feed knows me so well…

EY recruiting is such a mess. Applied and did a pre-recorded video interview, heard nothing for like 3 weeks. Then I get a random call saying they liked me and would I be available to attend an interview the following day. I say yes but never receive an email or additional details. Call back the number and it goes to voicemail. The following week I get a rejection email. Just so frustrating EY

Just quit. PA is a scam
Your brain will definitely be much more fresh in the morning. But it's easy to fall into the trap of not getting up on time, telling yourself you'll do it tomorrow morning and then not doing it again, resulting in no studying at all. If you can't discipline yourself to get up early regularly, just do it in the evening.
Adderall
If you're looking for the magic solution of a 26 hour day to study, it's not going to happen. I highly doubt you 70 hour weeks year round. You'll have to sacrifice something important to you. Watch a lot of tv? Cut down to a single show until you pass. Go out a lot/like happy hours? Get used to your weekend dates with Peter and Tim. Nearly everybody in our industry has gone through it, so you will be judged if you don't get it passed relatively quickly. You can always pick up the stuff you gave up in 6 months once you pass and you won't even have to feel bad about it then.
I study 1 hr everyday during lunch breaks if I am in the office, at least 1 to 2 hours after work and around 6 hrs on weekends! It absolutely sucks but can't stop now when I am so close to the finish line. You'll get there too! Just try to find around 2 hrs each day.
Thanks everyone. I got my Wiley study material in last week. I'll just have to force myself to make time. Work seems to never end and it's one deadline after another. Maybe go to sleep a little earlier and force myself to get up earlier?
I did night time after a long day, just had to give up Netflix and gym! GOOD LUCK!
Struggling with the same thing. There is no good solution, I've accepted that I am just going to have to make some sacrifices ( in terms of my health and personal relationships) in order to pass this thing while working full time. Personally I am studying at night and weekends
I used to bring flashcards I made/the Becker book to the gym and learn while on the bike/elliptical. It was always the most dreaded hour of my day but so proud of myself after🙃then, you'll have a sudden burst of energy so you can go home & KEEP STUDYING
Easy schedule of 30 hours a week FT: M-F 2 hours a day. Saturday and Sunday-10 hours each
I feel your pain OP. I'm not a morning person. I try to study before bed. Watch a show when I come home and have dinner to give myself a break beforehand. I've also been taking PTO on Friday's solely to study. I also study 5 ish hours on both Saturday and Sunday. Haven't passed any yet, but my first is August 1st. Good luck to you!
I did 90% of my studying on weekends only. If you know (like I did) that you won't have time or energy to study in the evenings after work, then yes, you should wake up early. If you know (like I did) you're not a morning person and you're likely to press snooze rather than wake up early, then you need to study at night. Or on the weekends like I did. It's going to suck no matter when you do it, so you should just do it the way that is most efficient for you so you don't have to drag it out longer than absolutely necessary. Studying was miserable and it felt like I never had a day off because I was studying all weekend, but I passed the exams very quickly so I didn't have to endure it for long. The best advice is to use your time as effectively and efficiently as possible and don't waste your time doing things half-assed or less than optimally for you.
I studied after work. I'm not taking the CPA, but in the last six months I've taken series 63, series 24, and gmat. Currently taking gmat one more time. Put in time on the weekends, then take a week off from work to study. That's what I do and it's worked pretty well.
Commitment and hard work rewards us all. Make the time
^wish I got lunch breaks 🙄
...or should I put in some hours before sleep (after an exhausting day 🤕)?
So if I passed the exam without adderall, does that mean I'm better than you?
If you're not a morning person, do the night studying after work. You'll have to give up a social life, but it's temporary. Also I'd do mornings and evenings once the exam got closer.
You have to give up your social life and basically study 7 days a week...with a week break after each exam....then start the next section, repeat, repeat.
I've had the same issues. For me I just ended up commuting to work in a way that allowed me to study to and from work. Then I try to use the app on my phone to study at any moment I have motivation. I usually have a total of 1.5 to 2 hours while I commute to study.
