I need to buckle down pass the cpa exam , but I have no motivation. I feel like I’ve learned more working and the particular group I’m in doesn’t value it as much as others . Honestly could see how a coding bootcamp would be more useful for the day to day of the job. Also, I’ve been wanting to have a side hustle of being an appraiser, but have no motivation to go through the Program for that haha :) I saw my friend finish Ironman yesterday I’m like dang I’ve been saying forever I want to run

As a CPA here, I can assure you it’s entirely useless outside of accounting. I moved to corporate strategy and not a single person had cared in any of my firms.

Not to discourage you, given that it seems you’re in tax and it’s more specialized.

A marathon but haven’t

Like idk 🤷‍♀️ I’m happy with my life right now like I’ve lost motivation to press forward

I wondered when I’d see a post about this. It took me a couple of times to pass and I’m a pretty smart guy. I had trouble getting motivated to study too. There isn’t an easy answer except to say it will definitely be worth it in the long run, no matter which direction your career takes. I’m in nonprofit leadership and that CPA (and MBA) is a significant advantage since having budget and finance competency is no small thing. Gotta just do it. It sucks.

On the topic of intimacy with partners… I’ve been with my boyfriend for 2 years and the past year his libido has dropped to zero. Mostly due to work stress (he says). Whenever I try to initiate, he always shuts me down and says he’s not in the mood. I even touch him and he gets hard but stops me as soon as I try to unzip him. We went from once a week to maybe once a quarter.

I’ve talked to him about it and he says I should take care of myself. So frustrated. 😭😭

When I was hired, I don't recall being informed about my salary being tied to my location. My employment contract also only makes one mention of location, and says "home office" and my state. I was recently told by HR though that if I move, my comp. will be lower. Is this legal? Should I consult a labor lawyer?

In my mind, I don't recall being told this and it's not clear from my employment contract, so I feel like they're breaking our agreement, and it feels unfair.

Thoughts on what to do?
