Good recruiters do this, but it’s not universal. The best ones see it as setting candidates up to show their best work, not “gaming the system.” It usually leads to a better signal for both sides.
That’s a great way to look at it. It really does help both sides get a more accurate signal.

It depends a lot on how invested the recruiter is, and how much they understand the job they are recruiting for. I have had a couple recruiters I have worked with in the past do this for me as well, and it really does make a world of difference.
Totally agree. When recruiters are invested, it really shows and makes a big difference.
This made me think that the only times when it happened to me was because the company itself pushed for a great interview experience, it isn't usually up to the recruiter I think, when it happens it means that the company is a nice place to work in.
Interesting perspective. It probably does reflect the overall company’s approach to candidate experience.
