I recently had an interview with HCL and cleared 2 rounds of technical interview. I waited for a week for HR call but no such call was received. I then contacted the POC who scheduled the interview (he is an HCL employee) and he said that I have been shortlisted and will receive HR call shortly. This was 1 week ago and I have still not received any call. Has anyone else faced the same issue? And if yes, should I even expect a call fro HR?

I believe that I am being blocked from my transfer even though my manager approves it on paper. Is there any way I can find this out. Now that we have work all year long and lack of an off season, isn’t it a good argument to work just 40 hours a week all year long? Of course there will be some 45s, but I feel it can all be managed if leaders are willing to turn away work and still make a good living. I just don’t see the tax profession improving at its current state, am I just being pessimistic? I know the demand will be there but to continue to work 55+ hours doesn’t sound like something I want to continue as I get older.
