I am so angry that we are going to waste 3K because of a mere matter of days due to internal BS.

If all you need insurance for is a stop gap / safety blanket then I’d purchase a cheap plan on the market place to cover you both until your Accenture coverage kicks in. It’ll be much cheaper probably about $300 a person for a month. I did this when I was in between jobs.

It takes effect the beginning of the following month, your current insurance should cover you until then. Typically all coverage lasts until the last of the month.

I'm confused. I've not heard of a school or employer of any type being able to force people to have insurance (only the federal government through Obama care tax penalties). And they're saying they'll charge you 3k up front? I've also never seen premiums being due up front as a lump sum. If it's not a lump sum and you'd be paying monthly, your new insurance kicking in should qualify as a life events that enables you to change (or decline) existing benefits, or at least that's been the case for any insurance I've ever used.

Pretty common in the US - all students have to have a minimum level of health insurance to be enrolled just absolutely inconvenient that this happened right as she has to submit annual proof of insurance.

Not a homeowner - but looking to buy in 2-3 years. I feel like I'm saving well, but could save more pre-tax with my 401k. Can I reasonably access 401k funds to buy a house, or should I keep just putting 10% to 401k and investing post tax money to save up a down payment?

Incoming EY SM. Can anyone tell me who EY’s pension provider is please? thank you!

Ridiculously beginner questions but: 1) is the max 401k ($19,500) that you can save per year including employer contributions? 2) hypothetically what happens if I set my contribution rate too high and don't correct it? Let's say I make $100k and set my rate to be 30% which would result in my saving to much. Are there safeguards against this or do I get penalized? Thanks!

Might be off topic, but guys please, take care of your health. I've been rejected by all companies in the last 2 months. I had my Walmart interview today and it went really well. And guess what? I got a rejection email. I felt dizziness while working and fell down today. I had to go to the doctor due to the anxiety and stress I was carrying since the last 2 months. It has affected my health. It's important to push yourself to achieve your goals, but don't forget to "Live" in the process.

I'm looking for a part-time job in HR, preferably remote and if possible at my own time... I know it may be too much to ask but I'm currently working full time and in need of additional income. Anyone know if something like this is available? Don't need benefits or perks but definitely additional earnings.

Looking for some honest feedback on my resume. I currently have a job, but not the happiest place I have ever worked. I’m not the best at “selling my work” so thinking it might have to do with my resume. Would appreciate any pointers
