Whenever a new leaf is coming in I congratulate them on their pregnancy 😂😂
Full on? Maybe don’t tell anyone outside this bowl.
Within this sub? Yes, absolutely.
Don't talk to them every day but when I plant seeds I asked them politely to please sprout. And when I'm watering usually is when I talk to them and compliment them
I love talking to my plants and always tell them how good they are doing.
I know wayyyy too much about plant biology to anthropomorphize them lol
Music is vibration in the air, and flying insects also produce vibration in the air. It's not too hard to imagine that a plant might have developed a response to certain frequencies or patterns of vibration as a signal about the insect population. There are a number of products on the market that work by basically tricking a plant into thinking it's under insect pressure (e.g. insect chitin as a soil amendment) which generally makes them grow more vigorously. Being sensitive only to particular frequencies/patterns would explain being particular to certain types of music.
Obviously this is within the realm of speculation, but it's a lot more realistic that plants evolved to respond to insects (which are about as old as terrestrial plants -- 400+ million years old) than human speech (<2 million years old) or human music (<100k years old).
