I want to apply to community manager jobs but my whole background is in content writing. What should I put in my application that shows I can do the job?

One great way to show that you have the skills necessary to be a community manager is to highlight any experience you have with customer service. Providing excellent customer service is a key component of being a successful community manager. You can also list any experience you have moderating online forums or managing social media accounts. These are all skills that are essential for a community manager.

In your application, you can highlight any content-related projects you've worked on in the past. This could be anything from creating a social media campaign to writing blog posts. If you have any experience working with or managing a team of content creators, be sure to mention that as well.

You can highlight any content-related projects you've spearheaded. Perhaps you've created a blog or newsletter for your previous company or been in charge of social media campaigns. Whatever the case, be sure to describe the results of your work. For example, if your blog saw a significant increase in traffic, mention that. Numbers always speak louder than words, so quantifying your successes is key.

In your application, you could highlight any content management experience you have. This could include managing a team of writers, overseeing content strategy, or ensuring that all content is on-brand and meets the standards of the company. You could also mention any experience you have with social media or customer service, as those skills are important for community managers. Whatever you do, make sure to emphasize your ability to build relationships with customers and other stakeholders.

Content writing is not the worst background to have. Community management is still a term that can mean very different things between companies. In some places the job just entails writing community posts and engaging with online communities which is pretty much covered under content writing. If you have samples/a portfolio you're in a decent spot to apply to some jobs

Do you have any volunteer experience that could help you out? Even something like being a moderator in a twitch stream would go a long way in making your resume look more well-rounded. Even without that, though, content writing is a very good start and quite a few community managers start out that way.

Hey everyone! I’m interviewing for an HR Generalist role at a Fintech company, this will be their first HR hire and will be reporting to the CFO. I got invited to a second round interview to meet the team to ensure that it’s a good culture fit. I would love to know any thoughts on what I should ask or do to ensure that I am great fit. I left a good impression on the CFO but would to see what else so can do when meeting with the team since it’ll be a 2.5 hour meet up. I’m really excited!
