You will struggle to be self motivated. It’s just so much harder. Write ‘To Do’ lists & set goals for the day. Helps you achieve what you need without feeling overwhelmed

It’s awesome! Once the projects roll in you’ll see it’s not that different than being at the office except you don’t have as many interruptions or commute time. If you were motivated before, you’ll still be now. If not, not.
True but it’s much harder (for me anyway!) to be motivated with a 2 year old running around :) / Insert your own circumstances/distraction you didn’t have in the office
Establish a new morning routine to replace the routine of what used to be your commute. It'll help you get from "I'm in my living room" to "I'm at work now."
Aside from that, I've noticed a lot less deference after a year WFH. There's still rank and file, but it's more relaxed. And some of those people who were too shy to flourish in the office are finally getting heard and having their say. Also less politicking and posturing, or at least less exposure to it.
Kinda sad, but for the most part, it seems like it only took a global pandemic and all of us hitting our breaking point to let a little more humanity into an otherwise cold, heartless industry.

Some big changes:
You’re going to spend a lot more time on your computer then before. Your entire day is staring at a screen. That becomes exhausting.
You’re going to see a lot more kids and spouses and animals. If you have kids, it’s a big change. The boundaries are blurred. It can be fun and cute but also can be frustrating, especially as a parent.
There’s a lot more reliance on software for co-working... for decks, chats, file sharing etc.
There’s a lot of forced fun and forced camaraderie (at least at my agency). I skip most of it, which seems to be fine.
Some advice:
Have a morning routine, and stick to it.
Make sure your desk space is well lit and quiet.
Schedule time in your day to get outside.

One other thing that i would add. Don’t treat this as something temporary. Even if it’s only for another six months or a year, that’s a really long time and you’re gonna want to set yourself up to feel comfortable in your situation.
It’s easier to feel professional if you are wearing pants
Which is why I wear sweatpants
You’re going to absolutely love it.
Congrats on the new role. I think the posters above have covered everything. Having an established working routine is vital. My personal routine involves hitting the gym first thing, showering and being at my ‘desk’ (kitchen table) by 9 am sharp - if not earlier. I wear at least a t-shirt and shorts just to feel ‘dressed’. As stated above, set up a daily ‘to do’ list (I use OneNote) and fill it in and check it off religiously. Set up times and dates on your calendar to do back ups/time sheets etc and don’t skip them. At lunch time, leave your work space and do something else. Don’t eat at your desk - unless it’s the kitchen table. Make sure you get up and walk around every 30 mins or so. Drink lots of water. As much as possible visualize doing all this as if you were in an office. Oh - and biggest tip of all - invest in a decent office chair. Your back will thank you.

I just came here to say CONGRATS on the new gig OP! 🙌🏼
Thank you!
Get some blue light protectant glasses for the increased screen use. It’s always easier to be motivated if you have a space in your home dedicated to work that a separate space than relaxation. It also helps to get up and get dressed for the day and establish a routine. Take breaks during the day to walk around, rest eyes from screen, get a breath of fresh air! Overall WFH is awesome
Work/Life balance does exist
You’re going to actually see your kids (if you have them)
You’re going to be home in time for dinner
People are more understanding
Presentations are less stressful
Shoots/edits are going to be more stressful
You’re going to get more done if you set up a space/schedule and stick to it.
Less done if you don’t
Presenting is hard. Everyone’s on mute and you can’t see faces to gauge reactions. You’re tap dancing in front of a brick wall. You just have to tell yourself “they’re laughing, they like this, it’s going great.” And pause a bit more to verbally check in “Does that visual make sense before I read the VO? It’s a transformation AS the family steps into the car...”
PS TRUE TEAMMATES unmute for occasional chuckles when we’re presenting to clients. Those account peops are the real mvps and we love you.
It’s going to feel like life and work blend in so make sure to establish boundaries of when you’re online and when you’re done for the day. Some people have started to work earlier, and some have started working later, including the clients. So it’s good to establish boundaries with yourself and your team and don’t work when you need to, even if it’s just checking a late or early email
Have a place that’s private and quiet for calls, establish a morning routine that’s focused on you, and plan ahead of busy days if you need to run errands but have a client presentation to attend
If you or your partner gets pregnant, get unpregnant.
