From my understanding layoffs are a LOT easier to explain then getting fired. Definitely two lines! But I’ve also seen resumes that show promotion kinda like this: Junior Strategist - Assistant Strategist - Digital Strategist Kind of laddering the promotions which is pretty effective also. Best of luck on your search! And make sure to start adding local recruiters to your linked in! They all know when a layoff’s coming and then start scouting right away! You’ll find something!
If you do ladder them like pm1 said, definitely do it the other way around (most junior position should never be first). But I recommend separating them anyway.

Keep to separate, and explain leaving as a financial thing for them or a growth thing for you. Unless you’re fired for gross incompetence the truth prob won’t hold you back.
