No, no and no.
Accept up to the point of signing and then decline without a clear reason.
Say yes and then don't show up. When he asks you why just say "I really shouldn't have to lay this out for you."
Run screaming into the night
I might go through the motions just to fuck with them.
hell no. unless of course desperation was at a new high.
NO. RUN.
Not a chance. No amount of desperation would do it for me
Never.
No
Absolutely not. Is this really even a question?
Only reason I was starting to consider it was it's because it was a fantastic job / company and we were on decent terms afterward.
Well up to you but you might want to find out the "why" behind the original firing decision before you make that decision. There are some people that can be great friends but can't work together.
I'd just ask them what happened the time before. Then they'll say "oh shit that was you?" And rescind the offer.
No unless I had no other option (unemp with no prospects).
Were you fired or laid off and why?
How do you get fired without a clear reason? What really happened and what may be just your judgement perhaps? I'm unclear on the background versus this person wanting to hire you now. There is a disconnect so must be more to the story.
Without making myself too identifiable, without a clear reason means a conversation happened like this on my last day:
Free: Wait, why am I being fired? What did I do?
Boss: I shouldn't need to lay it out for you.
Free: But last week you were talking about my next position.
Boss: Dunno what to say.
Free: *walks over to other boss* what happened?
Boss 2: This really sucks. It's really just business.
Free: Alright well, see ya around. *shakes hands*
Very strange. And if you have to be honest with yourself, nothing that you could think of as a reason comes to mind at all??
If that's all you can share, based on it, I'd say No too. If they can't have the balls and management maturity to explain why they fired you, they're not to be trusted anyway.
Well I'm not perfect, I can think of two minor things but they kept and still have people on who had done far worse or made worse mistakes so if it was those I would have hoped to find out. Termination letter cited "Performance" but I had always had stellar reviews, but at the time I was so in shock and saddened I said fuck it and signed anyway.
