If admitted to both, INSEAD or LBS Master´s in Management?

Background info:

Consulting experience from boutique spin-off from MBB
MBB is target post grad, VC long-term
I speak my native language and English (limits countries I can work in)
Could also see myself do Tier 2 in London (heard MBB mainly Oxbridge undergrads)
I really enjoy community life, student clubs and so forth
Have not been in nor London or Asia but have Asian heritage

Any input is valuable, and lets neglect cost for now

INSEAD 100%

Reasoning being?

If you do the LBS MiM, interviews at T2 in London are pretty much guaranteed (with some chances for MBB). INSEAD MiM is a less mature course. I did the LBS MiM and 20% of my class got into MBB, and around 50-60% into T2

Okey, that is great to hear! You mind connecting?

As an LBS MBA alum, I would pass on the MIM and go for the LBS or INSEAD MBA, especially if your goal is MBB consulting. MBB and the other consulting firms come to campus to recruit the MBAs because they value that degree. All the MIMs who want consulting get thrust into the entry level roles for undergrads, which is not where you want to be after getting a masters degree (and especially not where you want to be if you already have consulting experience).

If you are set on a MIM, LBS’s program is more established, has a richer student life since the MBA is 2 years allowing for that continuity, in a major European city (vs outside Paris), and you get the 2-year right to work in the UK after graduation.

Dmed u!

Is It INSEAD MBA or management ?

If management , then I would pick london because both non mba courses are the same but london is a better city to live over all , better diversity and job opportunities. You also get a 2 year post study work visa to apply for jobs

like

Hands down LBS then. Only exception is INSEAD MBA

INSEAD campus is also in the middle of nowhere so it’s pretty boring.

LBS has a lot of clubs, amazing employer relations, good student life etc.

Lot of my friends did the MIF in LBS and thoroughly enjoyed it along with good jobs in banking/finance/PE and consulting

I also live in London and studied here (undergrad/masters here) so well aware of the employer/school rankings. Also an immigrant so have a better POV probably than the rest of the people who comment INSEAD hands down

You can DM me if you want more specifics

like

Wait and do an MBA then you can apply for MBA level positions. MIM has poor ROI. There isn’t really a shortcut in terms of doing a masters and then applying for consulting jobs. You would probably still only be considered for entry level roles.

I would not write off INSEAD for community. Indeed, because you are alone in the forest as a group of students you bond very strongly. You need to make your own fun with house (Chateau) parties etc.

However, I did MBA at INSEAD and not MIM. That is a smaller course and MBA dominates the campus. Probably same in LBS but you’d be in London so could find other distractions

like

Okey, thanks!

Keep in mind that the LBS MIM program has been there for years while insead is still pretty new. You can get a job in the Uk from insead but if the goal is to work in London, I’d advise go for LBS

like

Yeah
LBS can also place you in consulting in Dubai. I have seen a few People from INSEAD do this but it’s more common with LBS.

like

Lol INSEAD without question.

Why is this even a question.

Can see the confusion now - sorry about that C1, but yes MiM for both!

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

Hi all,
I am from Deloitte USI, Pune. Can anyone let me know whether Deloitte USI has a professional Cricket team/Club? Would love to be a part of it. I have represented state team (U-19) and national team as well :) Do we have various tournaments too where we can play with other Company teams?
If we don't have any club, then we should create one. I can volunteer in preparing one.
Its good to see that Deloitte focuses a lot on Well-being. So, we can write to higher authorities to have a club!!
