Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Email your lease coordinator and explain the situation. They should let you break the lease

It sucks, firstly. I hope this is a hypothetical. First option is to find a new job quick and stay in your place. That’s the most cost-effective solution, but depends on getting a job, obvi. Second option is to read your lease agreement and check the terms of breaking it. Sometimes your on the hook for the whole lease amount. Sometimes you owe a month’s rent.
Also see if you could sublet to someone else

At least here in Germany, starting a degree or a new job in a different city/state is a reason to break these kind of agreements (that are getting more popular in newly built buildings). Of course they wont tell you that but I managed to get out of a similar situation, despite having a different reason than yours (breakup). Any friend or family can state that they are hiring you in a different city? On top of that you could offer to help finding a new tenant (which shouldnt be hard if you live in a big city). Or just sublet it (also your right in Germany) by saying you were sent for a big project abroad. Your landlord has to either agree or else would be ground to cancel the lease, which will be either way be a win for you. I just hope the law is as friendly where you live.
Just message them, usually you pay like a one month penalty to get out early, not a big deal in this rental market

Alternatively, they will sometimes work with you if you have problems paying, but you have to let them know beforehand.
Get another job
If you are in between jobs get a job as a cashier , retail etc to keep you afloat until you find your next gig
