If I really don't enjoy my project and want to roll off, will I get fired?

Find a new project and have them help pull you off.

No. Been there. If you are new to consulting, it happens. Just ask your counselor and tell them about the next role/project you're interested in. You may need to have a call with your practice partner too. Your current engagement team will need to arrange for a transition too. Just be patient and slowly roll off from the engagement.

Best way in my experience is to make yourself 100% dispensable. Not by performing poorly (bad idea) but by showing how much more effective and efficient this project could be without you. - new phase that could use fresh ideas -> make sure you are there when it is planned! - transfer all your tasks to a more junior colleague -> they can lean from doing the stuff you already know - take on a side project -> show that you have capacity to do other things

The more pedestrian your intellect, the better fit you are at D Heard of a colleague with an FRM charter being laid off today. Overall excellent person. And you won't believe who they promote year after year.. the character, curiosity and quality of the lifers Don't join this firm if you for a love of learning and to be inspired. If you’re on the bench and get an external job offer is it worth giving a 2 week notice? What’s the point? I want to be professional but I also want to get paid until my start date. What should I do?

So, any Deloitte 🎣 that got laid off headed to Harvard?

People who work 50, 60, 70+ hours a week: how do you do that without putting your project over budget? Are your engagements written to have a resource work over 40+hours a week? Are you spending over 10-30 hours a week on added non billable time? What are y’all doing with all of that time?!

I’m an Analytics Consultant looking for industry roles as a data analyst/BI Developer. I’ve had a few recruiters and job postings ask directly for a dashboard sample. I obviously can’t give them anything I’ve worked on because of client’s proprietary data and NDAs. Has anyone run into this problem before? Did you end up making a dashboard with public data solely for industry interviews?

I raised some issues in my team, and now all the male members are telling me “no need to interact with us”. And labeling me as assuming things and that they “never said” anything. All my work credit has been taken away and said they will do it, I don’t need to. I feel helpless and that I’ll get fired, these powerful people won’t let me live here.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
