Hi all
Any openings in Goa location?
Hi All. I have offers from MobiKwik and Target for the role of Data Engineer.
Which organisation should I go fo?r. Please consider factors like job security, work quality and learning, WL balance and office culture.
They're both offering similar CTC and location is preferable in case of MobiKwik. My YoE is 3.

Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

It's the difference between a boss and a leader
Yes it's tough. They can doom you. What they should do is mentor you directly and via a manager to develop you. I have zero patience for people that are unhappy or not satisfied with others work but take no positive action to help improve it
I think the distrust leads to me feeling like he doesn't like me. But to answer your question, his review style is very interrogative which I don't respond well too, some people on the team thrive under that situation but just not my style, I don't appear confident under interrogation even when I know the answers . I actually got really good reviews from both senior managers on the job cuz their style is more collaborative. So just wondering if that and all that hardwork to get the good snapshots from the SMs even means anything if the partner is not onboard with my performance.
Something you might want to think about (and would like to hear others thoughts) but... I mean when a partner has such limited time on occasion they are not going to spend hours in the wps but will just ask questions to get a feel for where engagement is. I mean even as manager I did this - you ask a question and if seemed like team had handle on it you moved on - if not might be more inclined to look at wp. You say the senior managers are more collaborative but that’s because they have the time to do so. And obviously not saying partners should not try to foster similar environment but more difficult. Similar situation that a partner I work with was saying. There is a senior manager in our office who has reputation for being way too in the weeds. Partner was saying anytime he asks her question and he’s expecting a 30 second answer - but she launches in to 12 min explanation. That’s not what partner wants - and if it was he would have asked for it. So long story long - if you know your working papers you should be able to answer questions and ‘let me check and get back to you’ should be exception rather than rule
What makes you think he doesn’t like you? I don’t get that bit. Ok the trust thing I can understand a partner appearing like he or she didn’t trust the senior - but maybe just looking to make sure mgr or SM on board as well.
I will ask myself first what did I do wrong? And start from there.
Unfortunately the parnter makes the real diff. I will suggest to talk with the partner face to face directly and frankly. Not to confront him but show your true self and be genuine. Sometimes that will work out very well.
Is there a person on the team that your boss appears to trust? Consider what that person is doing differently and try to do the same to build trust. Or perhaps he talks to everyone the same way, don't take it personally.
