Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff.
So true!! It really all is! No one is going to die if some things have to wait.
Taking things personal vs letting them go and opening up a 403b/ reducing my expenses
Yea, retirement planning feels like the one thing I have control over. I've learned that every district is different in how they handle retirement. Start small, it can be daunting for sure. I've really been focused on it for the past 5 years, but I'm still learning...
Your mention of prioritizing mental health is certainly something I wish I'd focused on when starting my career. I would let things get to me when I should have been more resolute. And just handling time management in general is something I should have focused on a lot more. I spent way too much weekend time catching up on grading and other work when I no doubt could have managed the tasks better. At least I did get better at it as time went on, but I could have saved myself a lot of stress back then.
Time management is huge!! I decided a couple years ago to not ever take work home. And it has really helped. There have been a few exceptions I’ve had to make, but overall I’ve done pretty good with it. My kids have benefited from that.
