I’m a Department Manager for a $5M/year H&M store, I’ve been in this role for 1 year, 7 with the company. I’m relocating from Kansas to DFW to a store that makes $6M/year (and has a team twice as big) and I also retook my education to further support my contribution in the HR area. I asked about 3 weeks ago about cost of living and I think they’re waiting for me to forget about it. Truth is, I know way more now than I did then. I just don’t know how to ask for a raise based on my experience.
I would just be straight forward and ask. Have a meeting with your manager and bring any data you can to show why you should be paid more (i.e cost of living). Present your case and the worst they can say is no. You've got this.
Thank you so much!! I’ll make sure to share progress!
